NOT DESTROYED

Dark nights calling
with memories that run like deep waters,
soldiers wounded on the battle field,
Too many days untold and many songs unsung
Not destroyed.
Breaths held in anticipation of pain,
but the joy of the Lord is our strength.
Still more paths to forge and maps to draw,
The wounded can still rise again.
My dirty rags hang before my eyes
With memories that pierce the heart
But he can cloth us with the
robe of righteousness.

Every step ushers men and women
into destiny or draws them away from it
As broken pieces of yesterday
pierce the heart
The rivers of his peace can still flow
The heart that knew sin can also know righteousness.
Not destroyed,
His light can sing in our hearts
And turn the darkness to day,
Not destroyed...
